Tess Holliday, a plus size model, has become a rebel in fashion industries, which have admired slimness and curves for a really long period of time. The moment after Holliday signed a contract with MiLK Model Management, she became the first ever Size 22 super model in the United States. What she has been doing, is to challenge the norm of beauty.
Tess Holliday based in L.A., 5 ft 5 in, 257 lb, performs in endless dispute. From the beginning, cyber abuse has not stopped. That leads the lack of confidence, for Holliday and for the majority of plus size girls. However, pressure on the Internet could be motivation for plus size girls to prove themselves, or to prove slimness is not the only standard of beauty.
While Tess Holliday is not the only instance for plus size girls. Nicolette Mason, a plus size fashion editor has become the top 20 fashion bloggers in the globe. For Mason, complain is meaningless. From her points of view, complain does not help you to keep fit or show your original beauty. “You gotta make a change, or adapt and admit who you are. But do not complain, cause it does not do anything good to you”, she said in an interview.
For most of the plus size ladies, Mason’s words could be inspiring. To become who you are, to do what you want, is quite significant for them, or literally, every one. The day you can be truly honest to yourself about who you really are, you could be a happy and confident one.
